My journey with Scripted Leisure began after watching hours on hours of cookie decorating videos when my son was turning 2 in October 2017. I decided to try my hand at decorating sugar cookies to pass out as favors for his party. I went all in & came out with a medium ugly half dozen red tractors, but they were good enough to keep me going & learning & literally in less than a month I was receiving paid orders for my cookies. Scripted Leisure was born. This all happened by Halloween of the same year, and now I’ve met & made friends with people I would’ve never met had it not been for my home bakery business. Fast forward to 2023, and my dream came true when I blindly walked in to what is now my very own brick & mortar in the Historic Commercial District in downtown Dunn, NC.
While it isn’t a bakery, it is where I bring my love for all things interior decoration, unique gifts, confections, DOG couture, and more. In my personal experience people don’t know what they want until they see it. At the Studio is where my eye for those things least expected brings my customers back again & again! I am so glad you’re here!
The baking is a vehicle to share my heart (& eye for detail) through sugar, and take a minute from the every day chaos that is life). As labor intensive as it may be, I love that you can turn something edible into beauty. It brings fun and creativity literally to the table! Custom cookie platters make amazing statement pieces for any occasion! I currently take on a very limited amount of customized orders throughout the year. Pop Ups of my cookie designs will be announced as they are planned!
The "Back Room" is a highly curated Southern Vouge boutique within the Studio that will not often carry the same thing twice - honestly, it is Southern Vogue meets Southern Grit ...
I love Dogs - I've always loved dogs! They are the poster children for Perfection! Am I right, or am I right? Sometimes I just want to give my fur baby something a lil more than brand name store bought snacks, bowls, beds, or accessories - nothing wrong with those, but Mifflin's taste is giving ... well ... "EXTRA" - come see his corner of the Studio for dog couture, occasional Barkery Items, NICE Cream, clothes, and more!
I am passionate about the Studio evolving into an experience for our community to enjoy being together with those we know, and connecting with others we don't just yet! The magic comes alive when we gather with intention, play and express our self artistries.
